Fallen are the embodiment the unheard and forgotten shadows we hold within our hearts. They choose to see humanity as dispensable and irredeemable, only wishing to enslave them before they inevitably destroy themselves.

At the heart of Bastion, you will find the coldest heart in the depths of the hottest valley. Obsidian spires that span miles, the tops becoming swallowed by a thicket of clouds - the Red Queen’s empire is a dark, impenetrable fortress, and as far as the Ascended know, she doesn’t even exist.

The Red Queen is but a puppet master to a million relentless and loyal dolls within her Regime. Her most important doll is The Shadow King, whom the Ascended believe to be the fearsome battle hardened leader of the Fallen. In all truth, the Shadow King is a creation, a nameless foe in generic brooding armor, filled with whomever The Red Queen sees fit at the moment. Once her doll has been played with enough, well, they become ‘retired’, left to collect dust on a shelf.

Her militia believe in her vision of the future. She hears their cries of betrayal and the damaged lives they lived and turn it into a burning rage for revenge, and everlasting loyalty for her. Her military tactics lack ‘honor’, a concept she believes the weak coined at an attempt to delay their inevitable defeat. There are no innocents. There is no in-between. Pacifism isn’t a real stance, only the cowardly hiding behind words. The Fallen will continue to fight until her truth is seen, and until everyone believes in her vision.

POLITICS
Understanding the political and socioeconomic structure of the Fallen Regime
The Fallen run under a strict and structured socioeconomic system under the Monarchy of the Red Queen. While she is the sole ruler, she ensures all of her people are given an equal opportunity and living standard regardless of their "rarity". She acknowledges and empathizes with their suffering, and will do anything in her power to ensure they will never endure that suffering again.

While not all Fallen are assigned to a guild to function within, that does not mean they do not serve a purpose or are unable to make a living. Like everyone else, Fallen have a need for entertainment and hobbies, as being functional without recreation can become tiring.
