MYO GUIDE: FALLEN VERSION

So you've read the lore and you've chosen the side of darkness, how do you start designing your own Fallen Constellangel?

CHARACTER ASPECTS

The personality of your Constellangel may tie in heavily with their constellation. For example, a Constellangel blessed by Rosa (Rose) may be elegant and beautiful, but hard to grow close to. This will help you decide what kind of theme you will be creating.

DESIGN MOTIFS

Having repeating patterns (not the texture) is important to designing a cohesive theme. A Libra Constellangel may have various elements incorporated into the design to portray scales and balance. A Corvus (Crow) Constellangel may take elements from the animal, i.e. talons or beaks. A Constellangel blessed by an animal constellation for example does not always need kemonomimi traits to portray that connection.

ABOUT CONSTELLATIONS

The 13 Zodiacs (Ophiuchus included) are typically barred from creation. You may only obtain a Constellangel blessed by Zodiacs through special means.
Every other constellation, former, current, Chinese, and Nakshatras, is allowed. Rarity is NOT affected by constellation!

FIRST: PICK A CONSTELLATION

Constellangels can't be born without picking a constellation, which is why it is important to do this first! The constellation you pick will set the theme for your design.

Caelum (the chisel) is a clear theme running through not only the design but the personality written for this Fallen as well. The porcelain skin and muted tones go well with their stone cold look. Keeping the theme cohesive is what makes this design so strong!

Canes Venatici (hunting dogs) is shown in a couple different ways in this design. Not only does this Fallen have the ears of a dog, he is also accompanied by his loyal hunting companion. His outfit also shows a level of finesse, as if he is a talented hunter and adorns himself with the spoils from his craft.

SECOND: PICK YOUR TRAITS

To start, let's go over the four traits Constellangels must have in order to be complete:

Wing Set + Variation

The wings pertain to two traits that Constellangels have: let's discuss the wing set first.

The Wing Set count applies to every set of wings that is attached to the body - one set of wings on the back is mandatory. Other than that, wings can be found on the head, arms, legs, thighs, any variety of places really.

The Wing Variation dictates the color/pattern/weather of the wings. Weather? Let me explain. Essentially, there is a microcosm of the sky within the wings of each Constellangel. Galaxy wings contain colors from the night sky and beyond, while day wings contain blue skies and weather phenomena that occur during the day, like rainbows or thunderstorms. The best way to apply variation is to take a real life reference of the rarity you have chosen and color pick. Tumblr pastel galaxies do not count, sorry!

The wings themselves can be made out of various materials and elements and come in special shapes. The shapes shown above are beautifully draped at their sides to accentuate the slim form of their figure.

Halo

The halo can be expressed in a variety of ways - the most important thing to note when designing an Fallen is the halo must be a broken loop with no connections. If a star is present, it must be eclipsed.

With that being said, it can be made of numerous elements and materials - even food! As depicted above, the halo is connected for much of the loop until it breaks at the side, adding an element of asymmetry. The star that is present is also eclipsed in an off way to compliment where the breaks appear. The halo also doesn't have to be directly above the head, it can be around the body, legs, wrists, etc.

Eyes

Welcome to the easy part! The eye rarity is mainly dictated by the shape and nature of the pupil. Solid, round pupils, no sort of glowing or animation, are the most common eye type. As you increase the rarity, you may actually start combining tiers i.e. rare eyes have no pupil, but you can take the glowing trait from uncommon and make glowing nebula eyes, or heart shaped eyes, the possibilities are near endless!

Let's look at some examples of all the traits coming together...
